Mikael Olofsson

Curriculum Vitae

History

Mikael Olofsson was born in 1963 and raised in Burträsk in the province Västerbotten in northern Sweden. During 1984 through 1987, he lived in Lövånger also in the province Västerbotten in northen Sweden. In 1987, he moved to Linköping in the province Östergötland in southern Sweden for university studies. In 1991, he married Elisabeth with whom he has two children, Erik born in 1995 and Viktor born in 1997.

Supervision

2003 − 2006, Mikael was assistant supervisor for Jonas Eriksson , who defended his PhD thesis in May, 2006.
During his time as a research and teaching assistant, Mikael has supervised three master thesis works.
During his time as associate professor, Mikael has supervised and/or examined ten master theses and two bachelor thesis.

Reviews

Mikael has served as a reviewer for conferences and scientific journals a few handful of times.

Programming Skills

Basic Written a few programs in ABC-80 Basic.
 
Pascal Taken two courses in programming using ANSI Pascal at Linköping University.
 
Matlab Mikael uses Matlab occasionally to generate graphs for his research and for his teaching.
 
Magma This is the most important tool for Mikaels research. He uses Magma to perform finite field arithmetic. Occasionally he also uses Magma for permutation group operations and studies of error correcting codes.
 
Python Mikael maintains the web site at the Division of Communication Systems, of which most parts are programmed using Python. He has also used Python to produce a few tools that are being used at the Division of Communication Systems.
